Campfire Breakfast Oats with Baked Apple [RECIPE]
Hi everybody!
I'm Lisa and this is Cassandra from Earth+City, and we're located today the beautiful Presqu'ile
Provincial Park near Brighton, Ontario.
This morning, we're going to make a chai-spicedoatmeal using a lot of local Ontario ingredients.
So we first started with the apples.
We cut the apples up, sprinkled them withsome coconut sugar and cinnamon, wrapped them
in some tinfoil, and put them on the fire.
In the meantime, we're going to boil our sapsuckerwater for the oatmeal.
I'm going to add a quarter teaspoon of seasalt, and 1 teaspoon of chai spice.
And we can let it sit and cook away.
Cooking over the fire is extremely special.
It allows us to connect more with our food,be with the elements, and I know we're just
going to enjoy it that much more.
Take the oats.
Oh this smells so good!
Ah they look amazing!
I love just grabbing apples from a local farmers'market on your way up to camping.
A lot of times you can just pick them up onthe side of the road when you're driving up
to local campsites.
Don't forget the seeds and nuts!
So I'm going to grab some hemp seed.
We picked these up from a local farmers' market.
Last, we'll add some cinnamon and some maplesyrup.
Oh my gosh, I can't wait!
Camping will never be the same.
Right?
I'm so happy.
Imagine we just brought cereal?
No!
